Shelter Ideas

A Winter Set-Up

This is one of our volunteer's winter set-ups. She uses the plastic tub shelters and puts them up on wooden skids. They are then placed around an old table with a blanket stapled to the top.

Then a heater of the radiator style is placed under the table to heat the area. The blanket helps to keep the warmth in.

All sorts of things can be used. Old dog houses, plastic tubs, and styrofoam containers. Use your imagination, just remember to keep everything dry and always use straw! Do not use blankets, towels, hay, grass or leaves. All of these things can retain moisture and make for a bad situation.
