Thank you for your interest in fostering for our organization! Foster homes literally save lives. Our shelter is staffed by volunteers who have their hands full with cleaning. Kittens in particular are fragile and do not thrive in a shelter environment, where they are exposed to illness and spend endless hours in cages. Foster homes can provide one-on-one care and attention that is invaluable. In general, we seek to foster out our kittens until they are adoption-ready both physically and socially.
In order to best utilize our foster resources, we need to know some information about you and your home. Taking the time to answer these questions accurately and thoroughly, is greatly appreciated. The purpose of this application is to determine how much time and experience you may or may not have, so that we can place appropriate fosters into your care. Some foster situations are extremely complicated and time-consuming, others are relatively low maintenance. We need to know what you are able or willing to learn, to do.
Once we have reviewed your foster application, our foster coordinator will be in contact with you. At that time you will have the chance to ask any questions you may have about fostering. If you are approved to be a foster volunteer, you will be required to sign a waiver of liability and a foster agreement which outlines the terms of fostering for Focus on Ferals. Thank you!
